Learn about our programs
-
Our Community Services aim to foster healing, reconciliation, and unity by embracing the traditional ways of Frog Lake First Nation. Through the guidance of elders and culturally significant practices, we create a safe space for families to grow, heal, and thrive together.
-
Guided by the wisdom of elders, our healing programs focus on emotional, spiritual, and cultural well-being. These programs include:
Healing Circles: Providing a supportive space for individuals and families to share their experiences and heal together.
Cultural Ceremonies: Offering traditional ceremonies that foster a sense of belonging, identity, and spiritual growth.
One-on-One Elder Support: Elders provide personal guidance and counseling, rooted in traditional teachings.
-
We believe in reconciliation as a path to strengthening families and communities. Our programs aim to repair relationships through understanding, forgiveness, and shared commitment to a better future.
-
Our Family Preservation programs are designed to prevent family breakdown and ensure that children can remain safely within their homes. We provide proactive support, guidance, and resources to help families navigate challenges.
-
In-Home Support: Trained family workers visit homes to provide hands-on support, coaching, and resources tailored to each family’s needs.
Life Lessons from Elders: Elders play a key role in guiding families by sharing traditional knowledge, life lessons, and wisdom.
Counseling Services: Professional counseling is available to help families address issues such as conflict, stress, and trauma.
-
The Sharing Circle is a traditional practice central to fostering communication, healing, and unity. At ASAM Society, sharing circles are used to:
Build Trust: Encourage open and honest dialogue in a respectful environment.
Promote Understanding: Help families and individuals understand one another’s perspectives and experiences.
Facilitate Healing: Provide a space for emotional expression, support, and connection, guided by elders and facilitators.
Sharing circles are held regularly and are open to all community members seeking a space to share their stories and find support.
