ASAM Society’s Foster Care Services provide a safe, nurturing, and culturally supportive environment for children who cannot remain with their families. Our foster care program is designed to prioritize the well-being of children while maintaining their cultural connections and community ties.

Safe and Loving Homes

We work with foster families to ensure that children are placed in homes where they will be cared for with love, respect, and understanding. Our foster parents undergo thorough screening, training, and ongoing support to create a secure environment for children in their care.

Cultural Connection

Maintaining a child’s connection to their culture and identity is central to our foster care program. We actively encourage foster families to incorporate traditional values, language, and customs into their daily lives. Elders and cultural advisors play a key role in guiding foster families in this aspect.

Support for Foster Families

Being a foster parent is both a rewarding and challenging experience. ASAM provides foster families with:

• Training Programs to help foster parents develop the skills needed to support children effectively.

• Ongoing Counseling and Support to ensure the well-being of both foster children and foster families.

• Respite Care for foster parents, offering them time to rest and recharge when needed.

• Financial Assistance to help cover the cost of caring for the children.

Working Towards Reunification

Whenever possible, our goal is to work towards family reunification. Foster care is viewed as a temporary solution while we collaborate with biological families to create a safe environment for children to return home.

Becoming a Foster Parent

If you’re interested in becoming a foster parent, we welcome individuals and families who are compassionate, culturally aware, and willing to provide a stable home. Training and ongoing support will be provided to help foster parents succeed in their vital role.
